Some of the supporters of this project...

"A pastor’s job is not an easy one! Long hours; often working on your own; carrying other people’s problems. No wonder pastors can get worn out. What a great idea ‘rebuild the pastors’ is - giving them the opportunity for rest, refreshment and re-energising. I’m so glad someone’s thought of this!"

Rob White - Baptist Minister, Leader of Life Church Wilmslow, former National Director of YFC, Co - founder & Chairman of ‘Hope for Justice’ & Conference speaker.

"During a 'flat' period of my early ministry life, a friend once told me that my soul was "like a battery that discharges each time you give life away, and it needs to be recharged regularly". His comments sent me on a personal journey to discover exactly what specific things recharged my batteries. And along the way I discovered I was actually more than just a soul - mind, will and emotions - I was body and spirit too, all of which needed the same restorative treatment on a regular basis. I am convinced that proper life-management for those of us in Christian ministry requires regular periods of recharge. We constantly give ourselves away, like Christ did, so must constantly be recharging like He did. So whether you need structured recreation for your body, reflection and solitude for your spirit, or creative tranquility for your soul, make space for it in your life today. It is the key to a long and fruitful ministry."

"We started a ministry for pastors and leaders who were exhausted or mistreated in 2009 and renovated an apartment to be set aside to be available for retreats and healing times. We have been delighted to have had many, many leaders stay and recover and return to their work having had a break to reflect and refresh."

Andrew de Thierry - Andrew has been in church leadership for over 25 years, both on the staff of an Anglican church and as the leader of a church in Bath. He studied theology at Sheffield University and then worked in a hostel for ex offenders, worked as a youth worker and then qualified as a secondary school teacher in religious studies and outdoor education. Andrew is a qualified archery teacher and qualified life coach and is committed to investing in other leaders to support them using these skills.

"Pastoring is unique! Most of those who start out in ministry give it up before they retire. Although there are different reasons for this one of them is certainly connected to the mental, emotional and spiritual demands put on a Pastor. It is a joyfilled and satisfying vocation but also marked with an unusual amount of psychological pressure. Often fraut with broken relationships, disappointments, frustration and sometimes betrayal. This can leave a leader battered, overwhelmed and even traumatised. How this is handled determines in many ways the outcome of the Pastors ministry and life. To have an environment of safety and healing is paramount to a leaders longetivity. Therefore I believe the need for help, healing and recovery at certain times in a leaders life is critical."

Ed Wells - Edward grew up in England, studied business and management and then later graduated from Kingdom Faith bible college and became a part of the Kingdom Faith Church team before moving to Switzerland. He is also ordained from Eurolead, a European Network of progressive church leaders. He is Senior Pastor of Church Alive, a multi cultural church in Aarau, Switzerland. His passion is to see people equipped for life and to build longevity into leaders ministry.
